Rigas Centrala Biblioteka

Rigas Centrala Biblioteka (Riga Central Library) is situated in a busy street in the city centre. It is located in an anonymous building which includes many different functions. The building is high but it is not prominent in its milieu and it does not have any special character. Most characteristic is the elevator at the front between the library´s three floors. This is a traditional library, not an attractive meeting place. The collection is a combination of worn-out and new books. The basic service with free wifi and without fees is positive. This library does not live up to the expectations of a central library in a capital with 600 000 inhabitants. TWO stars: Acceptable.
