Rättviks bibliotek

Rättvik is a town of about 11 000 inhabitants situated on the eastern shore of the lake Siljan. Rättviks bibliotek (Rättvik municipal library)  is in a house for culture with four different spaces, an art museum, a photo archive, a museum for nature and the library. They all have a shared foyer and service point. The wooden building reflects the local tradition of architecture in this region of Sweden, Dalarna. The location is beautiful at the water but also very centrally in the town, close to the commercial centre. The design of the interior is modern and up to date.  On the other hand, the supply of services and the collections are quite traditional.  There are great possibilities to expose books and other items better.
