Stadsbiblioteket, Uppsala

  • October 2017

Uppsala is a city with one of the oldest and most estimated universities in Sweden.  Stadsbiblioteket (The City Library) plays an important role in this academic municipality and mainly for the general public . The library is situated in the commercial centre of the town. The building was inaugurated in 1987. During the past years the premises have undergone many changes. Today the interior and the activities are up-to-date. For example there is a room for the youth, a lecture hall and a nice cafeteria. This is a vivid environment where different kinds of user groups meet and the active staff is serving them. The collection is of high quality and well exposed.  The connection between the library and the city archive offers new openings for the visitors. Renewal of the interior in the children´s library can be needed. FIVE stars: Excellent.
