  • October 2022

Amsterdam’s main library Openbaare Bibliotheek Amsterdam (OBA) is a well-known building in the city centre close to the main railway station and cultural facilities e g the science museum NEMO and the concert hall Muziekgebouw. OBA opened in 2007 and is an important institution in the renewed city centre. During the past years there has been renewals of activities and premises in the library. Cooperation with different partners is characteristic for this library.  An interesting project is Huis van alle Talen (House of all Languages) which invites to a dialogue between different cultures and languages. The area for magazines next to the café is inviting. This library attracts many visitors despite fees for basic services. OBA is especially attractive for students. The city view from the library is an extra quality and very appreciated. FIVE stars: Excellent
