Cambridge is a city on the River Cam in eastern England. Its population is 145 000. It is the home to the prestigious University of Cambridge and many academic libraries in different colleges all over the city. Cambridge Central Library is the main public library in the Cambridgeshire County Library system. It is located on upper levels in a gigantic shopping centre called Grand Arcade. No signs outside or inside the building guide to the library. Regardless the central site of the library in the city it is somehow hidden. The collection of books and DVDs is good but only music scores are available. There are fees for DVDs and audiobooks. No printed magazines and very few newspapers are at one´s disposal. This library on three levels is for studies and for lending. There is a separate room for the Cambridgeshire Collection. THREE stars: Good
